E-Cigarettes and me
Product review
By: Rodney Long, inventor
I've been a Smoker since I was 17, I started in Boot
camp, that was 40 years ago, and up to 10/1/09 I was knocking down
(burning up, 3 packs a day of Marlboros) I had tried many times to
quit, and tried everything from the new pills to the old gum, so I gave
up on quiting years ago, Heck not only was I addicted to nicotine, I
flat enjoyed smoking.
(At 3 packs a day it was costing me over 12 dollars a day to feed my habit, thanks to all the new taxes on cigarettes.)
What I didn't like, is not being able to enjoy my Cig's when going out
to eat, or when shopping, or any building outside of my home office, it
was hard for me to go an hour without a Cigarette, I'd give anything
for the old days, when you went to visit a non smoker's house, the
first thing they did was get you an astray, when restaurants would ask
Smoking, or Non before they seated you.
A couple of months ago I was listening to the radio, the same morning
show I had listened to for over a year. When the Lady DJ said she was
going to try one of those E-Cigarettes so she could use it in the
studio, while on the air. I didn't even know what she was talking
about, but I was interested.
The next day she brought her E-Cigarette in the Studio, and tried it
for the first time, this was not one of their sponsors, she never
mentioned the brand name. She talked about it over the next three
hours, how she was getting her nicotine fix, and how it was just like
smoking, she had no desire to go out for a smoke break during the news
breaks.
Ok
I'm sold
I will buy one to take where I can't smoke, and use it "only" then.
I looked on line and found many E-Cigarettes for sell (don't fall for the "free" ones, they nail you with expensive refills)
I wasn't sure which one to order, but that afternoon I found them for
sell at a local store, and just bought it, a Starter kit which was
2 batteries, 1 Atomizer, a 110 charger, and 5 cartridges for just under
60 dollars, not really a deal, but no freight to add to it.
I followed the instructions, and give it a try at home, a bit hard to
draw the steam out, and the thing is heavy as heck but what was coming
out was the best "SMOKE" I had ever had, same Buzz as a cigarette, but
smoother, and much better tasting. That evening, instead of smoking a
pack of Cigarettes I only smoked 4, not because I was trying to quit,
or even cut down. I did go through the 5 cartridges by 10 the next
morning, and had to change batteries every 1 1/2 hours or so.
I went back to to store to get more cartridges, and they were $2.00 a
piece (10 dollars for 5), less than the cost of Cig's, but not by much,
as it took 2 to equal a pack of Cig's Over the next week I was using it
everywhere, stores, the Barber shop, even the court house. This
E-cigarette looked like a real Cig, even had a red light at the end, so
many people thought I was smoking when they saw me exhaling the steam,
so I would show them it was not real and tell them about the steam, it
had no oder, and they would walk away satisfied I was not smoking (but
to my mind, I was smoking)
The problem was, I was burning down the battery when away from home, I
had only one spare and it was home in the 110 charger, so I bought
another Starter kit, for the two extra batteries and the extra charger,
the new atomizer was easier to draw steam through, than the first one,
which made using it much more relaxing (I talked my best friend into
getting the same brand, and his also was hard to get a drag from,
really sucky workmanship in that brand). Now when I went out, I would
have three charged batteries.
Before I even realized it, I was down to less than a pack of Marlboros a day
I like E-Cigarettes
BUT
This brand cost me too much to use, and keeping 4 batteries charged is a pain
There had to be better out there ?
THERE WAS !
BLU
Starter Kit is only $59.95

Value
The Starter kit does not come with 5 cartridges, like others, it came with 25
$50 worth of the other brand's refills (17 packs of real cig's equivalent of refills)
You get 2 atomizers, instead of just 1
You get 2 battery chargers, and one of them is rechargeable and portable
Their patented recharging cigarette pack
(the cigarette batteries can be recharged in your pocket or purse up to 6 times)
You can recharge either a E-cigarette battery and the pack from either 110, or a USB
The refills are 1/2 the price of other brands
(it cost half as much to use each day)
No risk 30 day full refund if you don't like Blu E-Cigarettes
Quality
Well it's first class, everything is perfect, every problem I had with the other brand, BLU fixed
The BLU E-Cigarette is half the weight of the other brand and much easier to use
It's smaller, yet delivers the same performance, making it much more like a real Cigarette
It's much, much easier to take a drag from, just more pleasurable to use.
What I like the most
I always have a fresh battery ready, even when I'm away from home
That pack that charges your batteries up to 6 times makes the BLU truly a cigarette replacement
you can go all day without having access to a 110 outlet every couple hours, for an hour
That Blue light on the end
and the fact I bought the black, no one thinks it is a real cigarette
You can also hold the steam in 10 sec or so, and no one ever sees it
as it all condenses before you exhale
Cost
Instead of spending 12 plus dollars a day on Marlboros
or 8 dollars a day with the other brand's refills
I'm spending less than 4 on BLU refills
(that's a 3 pack a day cigarette habit, your cost will be less)
I still have the same pack of Marlboros the day my BLU came in.
I didn't start E-Cigarettes to quit smoking,
I just did
with zero withdrawal
I get all the pleasure of smoking without the harmful chemicals
A few years ago my doctor wrote me a prescription for a nicotine inhaler
he told me the nicotine was not killing me, it was everything else in cigarettes
since the inhaler was not covered by my insurance, and would run me more than $100 a week
I never did get it
I'm already breathing better, and no more smokers cough
I Didn't invent Blu E-Cigarettes, but I wish I had
